spoken word on the care system

Watch Michael Clarke ‘Care Leaver’ turn ‘Care Changer’ in this short film of his powerful and moving spoken word in front of social workers.

“I can be pretty creative when it comes to transforming thinking with feelings ”

Over the last 15 years within the care service I had unknowingly absorbed all I could about the procedures, the way in which staff and young people would engage. Starting off with me feeling powerless, useless and without love to completely loving myself for what I had overcome, to understanding how useful I, my story and my actions truly are and to finally realise how powerful I really am.
